Excuse my French
96 Orchard St, New York, NY 10002
When did the restaurant open?
30th of December 2016
What made you decide to open a restaurant? What was your vision?
The idea has been in my mind for quite some time, I have been in the restaurant industry over 20 years. I wanted to gather all the components of a French Bistro: a small space, with quality food, great atmosphere and ambient music. This will also honor part of my French heritage, my grand ma was French and a lot of the décor is based on her flat in Paris. I wanted to people to feel welcome and transported to an small apartment in Paris from the beginning of the 1900’s.
What is your favorite dish on the menu?
My favorite dish is the Butter Fly Salmon, that is slightly seared on the flat grill with a crust made out of shredded ginger and bread crumbs, and is presented over a bed of delicious ratatouille.
Three words to describe the food.
Flavorful / Delicious/ Inventive.
What can diners expect from you this year at FRW?
It is our first year participating on FRW, we are excited to introduce ourselves to Francophile guests that appreciate French cuisine with a twist.
